Ang Ku Kueh (AKK)

We happened to pass by this shop today as we are running some errands. Most of the kuehs has already been sold out by then (2pm). We got some peanut and green bean paste Ang Ku Kueh (60cents each) since the rest have been wiped out by some AKK fans. To our surprise, the peanut version taste much better as the nuts are grinded to perfection and each bite give you a balanced portion of fillings and skin. Their trade-mark skin is chewy and home-cooked and we believed it is not easy to master. Most old shops that specialised Ang Ku Kueh (AKK) did better with green bean version, but this particular shop's one was just so-so and the texture was a bit too rough for us.

Verdict:
Food: 6.5/10
Service: N.A/10
Ambience: N.A/10
Value: 7/10

Thoughts: Hmmm....This Ang Ku Kueh is still unable to bring back good old memories of grand-ma's AKKs. But thumbs up for their peanut AKK. This shop has done pretty well as compared to commercial ones out there, please support them, who hold on to this tradition till this day.
